As experienced divers we know all about nitrogen narcosis and the effects that it has on our reaction times and ability to respond appropriately to situations underwater. This course is one of the most informative and challenging- become a Trimix diver, an elite group of technical scuba divers.
Nitrogen narcosis can happen at any depth and the effects usually increase as our depth increases. Factor in swimming hard against a current or chasing a fish (if you are spearfishing or lobstering) and the narcosis quotient definitely increases. Adding helium to a nitrox mixture helps to "take the edge off" and provides clarity for better diving performance whether you are hunting, wreck diving or even just sight seeing. A Trimix course helps you to gain the knowledge and understanding of utilizing helium for dives that require stage decompression while utilizing enriched air nitrox mixtures and/or oxygen for decompression dives. This course is designed for anyone wanting to limit their nitrogen narcosis and gain more diving knowledge and experience. This course is particularly useful for the sport of spearfishing and lobstering as well as wreck diving and overhead environment diving on open-circuit or closed-circuit rebreathers. Trimix affords a safer means for deep-water exploration for divers who dive deep or perform with a clear head at depth. The IANTD Trimix Diver and NAUI Trimix Diver certification requires the diver to be self-sufficient and reliant.
